چکیده

Acknowledgements First of all, I wish to thank my supervisors, Benoit Macq and Laurence Wolsey, for their guidance and continuous support during these four years. I am very grateful not only for their technical expertise but also for their ability to make me self-confident in moments of doubt. Moreover , working on a subject at the frontier of their respective research areas has been a very rewarding experience. The results presented in Chapter 3 were obtained in collaboration with Michel Goemans during my stay at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. I wish to express him my deep gratitude for having offered me the opportunity to spend a wonderful year in Boston. I also owe many of the ideas presented in this thesis to fruitful discussions with colleagues at CORE and at the TELE lab. I am in particular very grateful to Philippe Chevalier who partly supervised the work described in the second part of this thesis. Many thanks also to the members of the examination committee for their numerous and helpful comments which allowed me to improve the manuscript. When doing full-time research, friendship is certainly an indispensable ingredient to preserve one's mental health. Besides the old good friends, many colleagues have intensely contributed to create a very friendly and relaxed working atmosphere. Last but not least, I thank my parents and family for their everlasting love and support. I can hardly say how thankful I am to Isa for her tremendous support and patience throughout these four years and more particularly during the last few months. This thesis is dedicated to them.

A Robust Scenario Based Approach in an Uncertain Condition Applied to Location-Allocation Distribution Centers Problem

The paper discusses the location-allocation model for logistic networks and distribution centers through considering uncertain parameters. In real-world cases, demands and transshipment costs change over the period of the time. This may lead to large cost deviation in total cost. Scenario based robust optimization approaches are proposed where occurrence probability of each scenario is not know...

An Inexact-Fuzzy-Stochastic Optimization Model for a Closed Loop Supply Chain Network Design Problem

The development of optimization and mathematical models for closed loop supply chain (CLSC) design has attracted considerable interest over the past decades. However, the uncertainties that are inherent in the network design and the complex interactions among various uncertain parameters are challenging the capabilities of the developed tools. The aim of this paper, therefore, is to propose a n...

Designing Incomplete Hub Location-routing Network in Urban Transportation Problem

In this paper, a comprehensive model for hub location-routing problem is proposed which no network structure other than connectivity is imposed on backbone (i.e. network between hub nodes) and tributary networks (i.e. networks which connect non-hub nodes to hub nodes). This model is applied in public transportation, telecommunication and banking networks. In this model locating and routing is c...

Hub Covering Location Problem Considering Queuing and Capacity Constraints

In this paper, a hub covering location problem is considered. Hubs, which are the most congested part of a network, are modeled as M/M/C queuing system and located in placeswhere the entrance flows are more than a predetermined value.A fuzzy constraint is considered in order to limit the transportation time between all origin-destination pairs in the network. On modeling, a nonlinear mathematica...

Optimal energy management of the photovoltaic based distribution networks considering price responsive loads, energy storage systems and convex power flows.

Nowadays, presence of photovoltaic systems in distribution network is not without challenge and it may not have economic productivity for the system under the lack of optimal management. Energy storage systems are able to cope with this problem. Therefore, in this paper, a new method is proposed for energy management of the distribution networks in order to show that how presence of the energy ...
